T bought me the road for xmas; we both read it and then got the movie. michael k williams is in it as the thief - and i've never felt as bad for a character in a book/movie, ever, as i did for this one. it's just terrible (the situation i mean). he gets left with less than nothing. reading the book i felt sort of bad for the thief, but my god, in the film williams just kills it. i'd only seen him before as omar little in the wire, where he's amazing, but words cannot express the impact of his (too brief) performance in the road. the man's a genius. he's just knocked ian mcshane off the top of my list of most awesome male actors.

I completely agree, and he did give them back their stuff after brief and one0sided stand-off. Poor guy.
